ANE's growing contribution, assisting a wide-range of communities including refugees, internally displaced people and vulnerable host communities, has gained a high level of recognition by receiving two distinguished awards in the 2020 series of the East African Leadership Awards. ANE has been granted the Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Innovation Leadership Award given to the Managing Director, Mr. Salihu Sultan Bilo. The respective awards were given after the World CRS Day, virtually held on 10th November, 2020, with a brief review of the achievements of the organizations nominated for the awards, and approved by the Jury of World Innovation Congress, Mumbai, India, organized by World CRS Day and World Sustainability.
The program for Innovation Leadership Awards annually recognizes leaders and their pioneer organizations from the East Africa Region that have particularly contributed their respective values and made a significant change as a strategic tool for sustainable growth in the community they are reaching with meaningful, innovative and sustainable aid programs in a way that makes a difference ensuring social change with increasing passion and commitment.
The managing director have expressed his gratitude for the strong policy support and useful guidance from the board as well the hard work and the dedication of the staff and volunteers at ANE's different operational areas in his acceptance speech. He have also mentioned this high level recognition of ANE's efforts, will create propitious conditions, giving ANE more material and moral strength to reach greater heights in institutional development and service delivery.
